Scientists track Cancer's genetic shifts during therapy in new study

NCT ID NCT03712566

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at how certain cancers (head and neck, esophagus, and anal canal) change at the genetic and immune level when patients receive chemotherapy or immunotherapy. Researchers collect blood and tumor samples before and during treatment to track these changes. The goal is to learn more about how these cancers respond to therapy, not to test a new treatment. About 39 adults with advanced cancer are taking part.
