First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tested whether a person's own stem cells (mesenchymal stem cells) could help treat chronic active antibody-mediated rejection in kidney transplant recipients. Only 3 patients were enrolled before the study was stopped early due to serious side effects. The treatment did not improve rejection, and one patient experienced severe complications.
