Do hospital antibiotics put kids at risk for superbug MRSA?

NCT ID NCT07234734

Summary

This study aimed to understand how often hospitalized children get MRSA bacteria in their noses and whether receiving antibiotic treatment during their hospital stay increases that risk. Researchers followed 581 children aged 1 to 16 who were hospitalized, excluding those with cancer or in intensive care. The goal was to gather information to help improve how antibiotics are used in children to prevent the spread of drug-resistant bacteria.
