No more nasty drinks? MRI study aims to ease Crohn's scans
NCT ID NCT07471438
First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at whether an MRI without a bowel-distending drink (like PEG or mannitol) can still accurately measure inflammation in the small bowel of people with Crohn's disease. Many patients find the drink hard to tolerate, causing vomiting or diarrhea. If skipping it works just as well, it could make follow-up scans much more comfortable for the 60 adult participants.
