Radiation-Free scan tested to protect kids with cancer

NCT ID NCT02415816

Summary

This study tested a special type of MRI scan that doesn't use radiation to see if it could work as well as standard scans for monitoring bone and soft tissue cancers in children. Researchers wanted to see if this safer scan could accurately track tumors and their response to treatment, potentially reducing children's lifetime exposure to harmful radiation from repeated imaging tests. The study involved 98 children with various sarcomas at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
