Brain lymphatics under the MRI spotlight in rare hypertension disorder
NCT ID NCT05762367
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This completed study looked at the brain's lymphatic vessels in people with idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), a rare condition causing severe headaches and vision loss due to high pressure inside the skull. Researchers used advanced MRI scans to compare the lymphatic network in 20 IIH patients and 20 healthy controls. The goal was to better understand how these vessels contribute to the disease, not to test a treatment.
