New training aims to boost motivation in schizophrenia

Summary
This study tests a program called Motivation Skills Training (MST) to help people with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder improve motivation and reach personal goals. About 80 adults will be randomly assigned to either MST or a healthy behaviors group for 12-14 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in motivation, goal achievement, and quality of life.
