First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at whether montelukast, an asthma drug, can reduce heart damage caused by doxorubicin chemotherapy in breast cancer patients. 50 adults with breast cancer were randomly assigned to receive either montelukast or a placebo alongside their treatment. Researchers measured heart stress markers in the blood to see if montelukast offered protection.
