Quick heart tests may spot danger in pregnant meth users
NCT ID NCT07309757
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at whether quick, bedside heart tests (ultrasound, EKG, and blood tests) can reliably detect heart problems in pregnant women who regularly use methamphetamine. Researchers will compare these simple tests to a full heart ultrasound. The goal is to find a faster, easier way to screen for heart damage in this group, especially in rural areas where access to advanced heart imaging is limited. About 35 women will take part.
