New heart surgery tweak aims to stop AFib for good

Summary
This study tests a modified version of the Maze procedure, done at the same time as other heart surgery, to treat atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat). The goal is to safely restore a normal rhythm and reduce stroke risk. About 151 adults with AFib scheduled for heart surgery will take part and be followed for one year.
