NCT ID NCT07236398

First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at a modified Maze procedure done during heart surgery to treat atrial fibrillation (AFib), a common heart rhythm problem. About 151 adults with AFib who are already scheduled for heart surgery will take part. Doctors will use heat or cold to create scar lines in the heart's left upper chamber and close a small pouch to reduce stroke risk. The goal is to see if this approach safely restores normal heart rhythm and improves quality of life over 12 months.
