Can your phone help you lose weight? new study targets black Women's health

Summary

This study is testing whether a smartphone app, combined with remote coaching, can help Black women increase their physical activity to reduce obesity and improve heart health. Researchers are recruiting 325 overweight or obese African American women in specific Washington, D.C., and Maryland neighborhoods. Participants will use the app, wear an activity tracker, and some will receive personalized coaching based on exercise resources in their local area.
