First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 38 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special heart ultrasound technique, called speckle tracking, can better predict survival and complications after mitral valve surgery compared to the current standard method. Researchers will follow 300 adults with severe mitral regurgitation who are having surgery. The goal is to see if this newer imaging tool adds valuable information for doctors and patients.
