New clip mends leaky heart valves without cutting chest open
NCT ID NCT07543874
First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study will track 1000 people with mitral regurgitation, a condition where a heart valve doesn't close tightly, causing blood to leak backward. Participants will receive a tiny clip (MitraClip G5) to repair the valve through a tube inserted in a vein, avoiding open-heart surgery. The goal is to see how well the clip works and how safe it is in everyday hospital use.
