New gentle cleaning method could save infected dental implants without surgery

NCT ID NCT07365722

First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study compares a new, less painful cleaning method (MINST) with the standard treatment for peri-implantitis, an infection around dental implants. About 80 adults with infected implants will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. The goal is to see if MINST reduces deep pockets, bleeding, and infection better than the current approach, potentially helping more people keep their implants without needing surgery.
