Stroke drug trial pulled before it even started

NCT ID NCT05367362

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study aimed to see if adding the antibiotic minocycline to standard stroke treatment could help people recover better after a severe stroke caused by a blocked large artery. The plan was to give some patients minocycline for 21 days and others a placebo, then compare their disability levels at 90 days. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
