First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tested a program to help VA doctors and nurses use hand washing as a moment to practice mindfulness—focusing on the present moment without judgment. 343 staff members were randomly assigned to either receive training, group discussions, and a mindfulness app, or to continue as usual. The goal was to see if this approach could boost mindfulness, improve well-being, and increase proper hand hygiene.
