Summary
This study tested a special type of meditation called compassion meditation in 142 Veterans who have chronic pain along with depression or PTSD. The goal was to see if this mind-body approach could reduce how much pain interferes with daily life and improve overall well-being. Participants were split into two groups: one learned compassion meditation, and the other received health education. The study compared the two approaches to find out which works better for managing pain and mental health.
