Could a pill of gut bacteria help treat a rare liver disease?

NCT ID NCT06197308

First seen May 21, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026

Summary

This early study tests whether an oral treatment made from gut bacteria is safe and doable for people with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), a rare liver disease. About 28 adults aged 18-76 will take the therapy and be monitored for side effects and completion of the full course. The goal is to gather initial safety data to plan larger future trials.
