Summary
This study tested whether metoprolol, an FDA-approved heart medication, can reduce heart damage after surgery in people with coronary artery disease. 72 adults aged 50 and older who were not already on beta-blockers took part. The drug was given after anesthesia and during hospital recovery to see if it lowered the risk of heart-related complications.
