Summary
This study aimed to see if metformin, a common diabetes medication, could improve blood vessel function in adults with prediabetes. Researchers planned to compare metformin against a placebo pill over 12 weeks to measure its effects on large and small blood vessels. The goal was to understand if early treatment could help lower the risk of future heart disease and progression to full diabetes.
