Could common diabetes drug protect hearts before diabetes strikes?
NCT ID NCT06526494
Summary
This study aimed to see if metformin, a common diabetes medication, could improve blood vessel function in people with prediabetes. Researchers planned to compare metformin against a placebo pill over 12 weeks in 30 participants. The goal was to understand if early treatment could help reduce future heart disease risk and prevent progression to full diabetes.
