Summary
This study looks at whether the diabetes drug metformin can help older adults regain muscle strength after a period of disuse, like bed rest. Researchers will give metformin or a placebo to 50 healthy adults aged 60 and older during recovery. The goal is to see if metformin improves muscle regrowth and reduces weakness.
