Painkiller-Bood thinner interaction under scrutiny in cancer care
NCT ID NCT07384013
First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looks at how metamizole (Optalgin®), a painkiller, changes the levels of blood thinners (apixaban or rivaroxaban) in cancer patients. Researchers will measure drug concentrations at several time points with and without metamizole. The goal is to understand the interaction to help guide safer pain management in this group. About 30 adults on stable blood thinner therapy who also need metamizole for pain will participate.
