Painkiller-Bood thinner interaction under scrutiny in cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07384013

First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at how metamizole (Optalgin®), a painkiller, changes the levels of blood thinners (apixaban or rivaroxaban) in cancer patients. Researchers will measure drug levels at different times when patients take metamizole and when they don't. The goal is to understand the interaction so doctors can manage pain and clotting risks more safely. About 30 adult cancer patients who need both medications will participate.
