What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
microfracture (a procedure that creates small holes in bone to stimulate healing)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that adding microfracture to meniscus repair leads to better knee function and healing than repair alone.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The benefit of microfracture is uncertain and may not improve outcomes.
