Can a pill help erase painful memories?

NCT ID NCT05902819

Summary

This study tested if a drug called minocycline could help reduce the power of painful or drug-related memories in people with PTSD or cocaine addiction. 138 participants were given either minocycline or a placebo pill before sessions designed to reactivate their troubling memories. Researchers then tracked changes in how often and how intensely these unwanted memories occurred over several weeks.
