First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested a new, short cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) module designed to reduce compulsive checking in people with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The therapy targets false beliefs about having a bad memory that drive checking behaviors. The study aimed to confirm earlier promising results in a larger group and compare the therapy to usual treatment. It included 23 adults with OCD and significant checking symptoms.
