New combo therapy aims to shrink skin cancer tumors before surgery
NCT ID NCT04526730
Summary
This study tested a two-part treatment for patients with advanced melanoma that could still be removed by surgery. Before their operation, 17 participants received a combination of a drug injected directly into the tumor and a separate drug given through an IV. The goal was to see if this approach could shrink or eliminate the cancer in the tumor before it was surgically removed, potentially leading to better long-term results.
