New combo therapy aims to wipe out melanoma before It's cut out

NCT ID NCT04526730

Summary

This study tested a two-part immunotherapy for people with advanced melanoma that could still be removed by surgery. The goal was to see if giving a new drug (Tavo) injected directly into the tumor, along with a standard immunotherapy (nivolumab) given by IV, before surgery could shrink or eliminate the cancer. Researchers then checked if the tumor was gone after surgery and monitored patients to see if the cancer came back.
