Experimental combo for advanced melanoma shows promise but study halted early

NCT ID NCT04695977

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tested a new drug combination for people with advanced melanoma that cannot be removed by surgery or has spread. The experimental treatment involved injecting CMP-001 directly into tumors along with the immunotherapy nivolumab, compared to nivolumab alone. The study was terminated early after enrolling only 20 participants, so results are limited. The goal was to see if the combination could shrink tumors better than the standard treatment.
