First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study tests whether a school-based program including meals, nutrition education, vegetable gardens, iron supplements, and deworming can reduce anemia and underweight in adolescents aged 14-17 in Tanzania. About 1,500 teens and their mothers from six schools will take part, with four schools receiving the program and two serving as controls. The goal is to see if this approach improves nutrition and food security over one year.
