First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special ointment (MEBO) works better than a common mouthwash (Tantum Verde) for treating painful mouth sores caused by radiation therapy. 36 adults with moderate to severe sores were randomly assigned to use one of the treatments three times a day for two weeks. Researchers measured soreness and ulcer size at the start, after one week, and after two weeks to see which treatment provided more relief.
