Doctors test 'Trojan Horse' stem cells carrying Cancer-Killing virus
NCT ID NCT02068794
Summary
This early-phase trial is testing a new treatment for ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer that has come back after standard therapy. Researchers are using a patient's own fat-derived stem cells to carry a specially engineered measles virus directly to the cancer cells in the abdomen. The main goals are to find the safest dose and to see if this approach can help patients live longer.
