Blood test may predict hip fracture outcomes in seniors

NCT ID NCT07350785

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a blood test marker called Monocyte Distribution Width (MDW) can help predict serious complications and survival in older adults with hip fractures. About 100 patients aged 65 and older will be followed after surgery to track infections, hospital stays, and recovery. The goal is to find a simple way to identify high-risk patients early and improve their care.
