Blood test may predict hip fracture outcomes in seniors

NCT ID NCT07350785

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a blood test marker called Monocyte Distribution Width (MDW) can help predict serious complications and survival in older adults with hip fractures. About 100 patients aged 65 and older will have their blood tested at the hospital. Researchers will track their recovery and health for up to a year to see if MDW levels are linked to infections, other problems, or death.
