First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests whether MDMA-assisted therapy can reduce pain and improve quality of life in people with fibromyalgia, a chronic pain condition. Twenty adults will receive two therapy sessions with MDMA while researchers scan their brains to see how the drug affects pain signals and the bond between patient and therapist. The goal is to understand if MDMA can help patients reframe painful thoughts and feel more trust, leading to lasting pain relief.
