First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving mothers extra oxygen during labor is safe and helpful for babies when fetal heart monitoring shows signs of distress. About 2,100 women in labor will be randomly assigned to receive either oxygen or regular room air. The goal is to see if oxygen reduces serious health problems in newborns, such as breathing issues or brain injury.
