First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study looked at whether manual therapy (hands-on techniques) can reduce pain and improve jaw movement in people with rheumatoid arthritis who also have temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction. 57 adults were split into three groups: one received myofascial mobilization, one received joint mobilization, and one received no treatment. After six weeks, both treatment groups showed improvements in jaw range of motion, headache, anxiety, and jaw function compared to the control group.
