First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tested whether taking a mangosteen supplement (500 mg twice daily) along with the standard diabetes drugs sitagliptin and metformin could improve blood sugar control in adults newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. 47 patients completed the 12-week trial. The study measured changes in HbA1c, insulin resistance, and other health markers to see if mangosteen provides extra benefits beyond medication and lifestyle changes.
