First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested whether taking a mangosteen supplement (500 mg twice daily) alongside the common diabetes drugs sitagliptin and metformin could improve blood sugar control in people newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. A total of 47 adults completed the 12-week trial. Researchers measured changes in blood sugar, insulin resistance, cholesterol, and inflammation. The goal was to see if mangosteen could offer extra benefits beyond standard care.
