Summary
This study tested whether adding a mangosteen fruit supplement to standard diabetes medication (sitagliptin/metformin) helps control type 2 diabetes better. Fifty-eight newly diagnosed Iraqi patients took either the standard medication alone or the medication plus mangosteen for 12 weeks. Researchers measured blood sugar, cholesterol, inflammation, and other health markers to see if the supplement provided extra benefits.
