Tropical fruit tested as potential diabetes aid
NCT ID NCT07172269
Summary
This study tested whether adding a mangosteen fruit supplement to standard diabetes medication (sitagliptin/metformin) improved health outcomes for adults newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Over 12 weeks, researchers compared two groups—one taking just the medication and one taking the medication plus the supplement—to see effects on blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation. The goal was to see if this natural supplement could help people better manage their diabetes.
