AI alerts aim to curb opioid overdoses in Doctor's offices

Summary
This study tests whether special alerts in electronic health records can help doctors prescribe opioids more safely for patients at high risk of overdose. About 1,350 adults who have taken opioids in the past year will take part. Doctors will see a flag or a best-practice alert nudging them to follow safer prescribing steps, like offering naloxone or avoiding high doses.
