Could a quick, painless scan replace X-Rays for a dangerous Post-Surgery complication?
NCT ID NCT06022081
Summary
This study is testing if a lung ultrasound, performed by medical trainees, is as good as a standard chest X-ray at finding a collapsed lung (pneumothorax) after a chest tube is removed. The research involves 60 heart surgery and trauma patients. The goal is to see if the ultrasound method is more reliable, faster, and easier for patients than the current X-ray approach.
