Lung transplant showdown: which technique saves more lungs?

Summary
This study compares two methods for double lung transplant: doing the surgery without a heart-lung machine (off-pump) versus using a special support machine called VA ECMO. The goal is to see which method leads to fewer serious lung problems after surgery. About 228 adults getting double lung transplants will take part, and researchers will track their recovery and survival.
