Summary
This study is testing whether a new organ preservation system can reduce dangerous swelling in transplanted lungs. Researchers will compare the new system against standard cold storage in 450 lung transplant patients. The main goal is to see if the new approach helps patients survive longer and prevents severe early lung failure after surgery.
