New tech aims to stop deadly lung swelling after transplants

NCT ID NCT07340710

Summary

This study is testing a new machine that keeps donor lungs warm and functioning before surgery, hoping to reduce severe swelling after transplant. It will compare this new system to the standard method of keeping lungs on ice. The main goal is to see if the new approach helps more patients and lungs survive the first 30 days without serious complications.
