Summary
This study looks at proteins in lung fluid from people with pneumonia to find out what is causing their lung inflammation. Researchers hope to discover protein patterns that can help doctors diagnose different types of pneumonia more accurately. About 750 patients already scheduled for a lung exam called bronchoscopy will provide a small extra fluid sample for protein analysis. The goal is to improve treatment by better understanding the disease.
