New imaging combo may sharpen lung nodule diagnosis

NCT ID NCT06505642

First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to confirm that a biopsy needle is correctly placed in a lung nodule during a procedure called navigation bronchoscopy. Researchers will compare two imaging methods: a special microscope at the needle tip and a 3D X-ray scan. The goal is to see if the microscope can reliably show the needle is in the right spot. About 25 adults with suspected lung cancer will take part.
